WordPress, Joomla, Drupal,PHPwiki, SilverStripe, CakePHP, Modx, Concrete5, PHP Fusion.
Out of all PHP CMS frameworks Joomla, WordPress and Drupal are most famous.
So let’s compare these three and see why Drupal is better than Joomla and WordPress.

Comparison of Drupal, Joomla and WordPress !!

Though the heading says comparison of Drupal, Joomla and WordPress but I believe comparing these three frameworks is just like comparing Sachin Tendulkar and Lionel Messi because both of them are extremely good at doing what they do but in different sports, likewise Drupal Joomla and WordPress are all extremely good CMS frameworks but all of them have their limitations. So, before you are choosing a CMS for your website 1st you need to ask yourself what exactly you want and then decide which framework is good for your website.
Let’s discuss when do you need to use WordPress, Joomla and Drupal:
WordPress: If you want to create and handle a website without much coding experience WordPress is what you need.
Joomla: If you have decent technical knowledge and you want to create an e-commerce or similar website Joomla is the best-suited framework for you.
Drupal: If you want a very scalable and secure website, Drupal is what you need. Drupal can support a website with thousands of pages without compromising the performance of the website. Drupal takes security issue very seriously and it has enterprise-level security that’s why many government websites are using Drupal.
Let’s have a look at
Why Companies prefer using Drupal?
Open Source:1st and most important one is that its open source.
Drupal is secure: As discussed above drupal is very secure and it has a security team which is constantly working to address all kind of security issue that arises or that might cause a threat to the website.
Drupal is flexible: Drupal is highly flexible and it allows the user to create pages, blogs, Stories, testimonials and lot more.
Drupal has thousands of free modules: Modules in drupal allows you to override the Drupal’s default behavior without changing Drupal’s core code.
Modules offer many additional features such as image galleries, custom content types and content listings, private messaging, third-party integration tool and more.
One of the best thing here is if there is no existing module we can go ahead and create a new module.
Some of the most commonly used contributed modules of Drupal are:
  • Content Construction Kit (CCK)
  • Views
  • Panels
  • Rules
  • Features
Drupal is scalable:

One of the reasons companies prefer using Drupal is because of its high scalability.
Last but not the least when we talk about drupal there is one thing that we can’t ignore :

Drupal Community

Drupal.org has the large community of developers and users who provide active community support to improve Drupal by coming up with new updates and better ideas to deal with existing challenges of Drupal.Drupal community organizes small events and meetups throughout the year and across the world to discuss drupal code and help people learn drupal.

I hope now you have got a fair idea of what is drupal and why it’s used.
