Implementing Schema.org module in Drupal 7
Schema.org helps to make schemas which are available on https://schema.org/. These schemas are recognized by search engines like google, yahoo, bing.They provide types like event, organization, person, place, recipe, reviews. When search engines crawl the page, they extract these data and use it to pick rich snippets. Download schema.org module here and enable it as any other module.
Once you have enabled lets create a schema for person content type. Navigate to Structure >> Content types >> Add Content types. Fill the name, description and click on Schema.org settings and enter the type as Person finally hit save and ad fields.
Edit the body field as rename it to bio, as body is irrelevant to person. Next add a new field called Affiliation and let the field type be text click on save and in affiliation schema.org mapping give the property as affiliation
Create another field job title with field type text and click on save and in job title schema.org mapping give the property name as jobTitle
Now save the content type. Next step is to add value. Navigate to Content >> Add Content >> Person. Fill the fields such as name, bio, affiliation and job title and click on save.
We can preview the page using Structured Data Testing Tool
